Priest to fight WA child sex abuse charges

A Catholic priest charged with child sex abuse offences dating back more than 30 years intends to plead not guilty.

Glenn Humphreys, 60, was charged with abusing a teenager in Western Australia between 1983 and 1986, when the boy was aged 15 to 17.

He is facing four counts of unlawful and indecent assault, and one count each of carnal knowledge and attempted carnal knowledge.

Humphreys did not appear in person in the Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday, but he had reported to police in NSW where he now lives.

He is due to appear in the Perth District Court in April.
