Long queues after man seriously injured in truck smash on M7

There are long queues of cars banked up on the M7 this afternoon after two trucks crashed at Prestons in Sydney's west.

The truck driver, a man aged in his 60s, has been extracted from his truck and is being taken to Liverpool Hospital with a specialist medical team.

Commuters are being warned of continued extensive delays on the M7. 9News

He is in a serious but stable condition with a head injury.

Two southbound lanes of the M7 at the exit to the M5 were closed following the smash but have since been reopened.

However, traffic remains very heavy and motorists are being advised to allow significant extra travel time.
