Premature momoamniotic twins take the internet by storm

Leia and Lauren share a special, unbreakable bond - not only are they twins, they were born in the same amniotic sac.
Momoamniotic twins or “momo twins” only occur in one percent of all twin pregnancies. Although they have separate umbilical cords, the identical twins share not only DNA, but share the same amniotic sac.
Parents Amber Yong and Peter Lok from Singapore decided to document their twins Leia and Lauren as they grew up on Instagram.
“We started this page to document their growth journey and plan to continue doing so. They grow up so fast and we would like as much as possible to capture these very precious moments at every stage of them,” Mother Amber Yong told 9news.com.au.
The identical twins now have more than 175,000 followers and Ms Yong started posting pictures of the twins shortly after their birth eight months ago.
Since becoming so popular online the young parents have been reached by people across the world.
“People from across the world have reached out to us to find out more about their story considering they are momo twins and were born two months premature,” Ms Yong said.
The family post pictures almost every day featuring the girls in various matching costumes.
