Powerball winner yet to claim $10.6m prize

A southeast Queenslander is unaware their bank balance could be $10.6 million higher after purchasing a winning Powerball ticket at a Logan newsagency.

Golden Casket officials are urging anyone who bought an entry in last night's draw from Springwood's Chatswood Hills News and Casket Agency to check their tickets as soon as possible.

The winning numbers in draw 1123 were 39, 17, 36, 35, 27 and 33, with the Powerball drawing a seven.

"So many people came, and they're just saying give me the winning ticket, I really want to win, and I said 'ok, I'm trying really hard, look at my finger'," newsagent Kusam Dehiya told 9NEWS.

"I said you have to pay for my nail, I broke my nail," she said, laughing.

But the lucky Powerball winner is not alone in failing to claim their winning Queensland ticket.

"We never lose hope of uniting people with their prizes, so in Queensland you actually have up to 7 years to come forward with the winning ticket," Tatts Lotteries spokesperson Matt Hart told 9NEWS.
