Power outage leaves riders trapped on Sea World rollercoaster
Thrill-seekers have been left trapped on a Sea World rollercoaster after a power outage on the Gold Coast.
Video showed a number of people stuck on the Storm Coaster after it came to a grinding halt just before 5pm.
The theme park said a power outage caused the ride’s safety mechanism to activate, stopping the coaster as a precautionary measure.

Passengers were escorted off by staff, with the evacuation taking about 40 minutes.
No one was injured in the incident.
Power has since been restored to Sea World and other affected locations in Main Beach, the Gold Coast Bulletin reports.
