Powderfinger reunite for surprise Splendour gig

Iconic Australian band Powderfinger have reunited for a surprise set at Splendour in the Grass.

Bernard Fanning, 47, was scheduled to play a solo gig at the Byron Bay festival last night, but surprised festival-goers by inviting his Powderfinger bandmates on to the stage at the end of his set.

It was the band’s first performance together in seven years.

They played a brief set, including their hits ‘(Baby I Got You) On My Mind’ and ‘These Days’.

The unexpected gig was well-documented by excited festival goers on social media.

During their heyday, Powderfinger released five consecutive albums that all peaked at number one on Australian chats.
