Toddler drowns in backyard pool in Port Stephens

A toddler has drowned in a backyard pool in Port Stephens in NSW.

The 19-month-old boy was found unconscious in the pool at a home in Bobs Farm last night.

Paramedics performed CPR but the little boy died at the scene.

Initial investigations suggest there were no suspicious circumstances, police say.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
