Porn star blasts Opera Bar

Visiting US porn actor (and occasional non-porn actor) James Deen is the second person to take aim at the Sydney Opera House complex – blasting the standards of service and food at the iconic Opera Bar.

He described the restaurant as "the worst place on earth", which is a big call for a drinking hole that overlooks one of the world's most beautiful natural harbours.

The service, he said, left something to be desired.

"The system of ordering was stupid," he wrote on his blog. "You went to a bar and told them what you wanted."

"Then they stared at you when you said you haven’t chosen your seat yet.

"After that you are given a number and forced to wait for an hour before a server comes over and bitches at you for not telling them where you’re sitting EVEN THOUGH YOU ALREADY TOLD FOUR DIFFERENT PEOPLE!!!!!!!"

Deen also offered a colourful list of things he would rather do than return to the eatery. And he is in a unique position to actually know that he'd prefer these lewd acts over a repeat visit.

The Opera Bar has twice been fined over food safety violations, with the last fine coming in 2009.

It's the second time in three weeks that a visiting overseas luminary (loosely speaking) has criticised some aspect of the iconic venue.

Actor John Malkovich took a swing at the acoustics and facilities of the venue.

"It’s lovely to drive by on a motor boat and it has a very nice crew, and very capable, but the acoustics are hideous," he told News Corp.
