Popular doughnut chain releases Pokémon themed doughnuts

You'd think after 25 years the Pokémon franchise would've done its dash, but the fandom is seemingly stronger than ever.

The hundred billion dollar corporation has been infiltrating and collaborating with other big name companies for years and there's no signs of slowing down.

The proof is in the pudding - or the doughnut in this case.

Classic Pokémon favourites Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charmander are getting their own themed doughnuts, as well as the classic red and white Pokeball.

While they may look simple, they're not just your average, original doughnut - they've all got their own individual flavours.

The Pikachu doughnut is filled with a chocolate cream, while the Charmander doughnut is a vanilla custard.

Squirtle's is white chocolate with a strawberry filling, Bulbasaur is an original glaze with green apple icing and the Pokeball is white truffle with red sprinkles.

These five doughnuts will be available at all Krispy Kreme stores from Tuesday.

An additional Pokémon themed doughnut will be released each week but flavours and designs are yet to be announced.

It's not just doughnuts, Pokémon is also making its way to McDonald's.

McDonald's is set to release its own Pokémon card sets which will be available in their Happy Meals.

While there's still no confirmed date for the release of the cards, what we do know is they're already in high demand.

International versions of the cards are currently fetching big bucks on eBay, some sets fetching over $300.
