Police have busted a suburban Sydney drug den that contained $1 million worth of cannabis plants.

Officers uncovered the crop when they raided two neighbouring homes in Ashfield, in Sydney’s inner west, about 10am Friday.

Police found a total of 355 plants in the homes, with 173 in one and 182 in the other.

The Bland Street properties had been renovated for the purpose of growing the drugs indoors, NSW Police said in a statement.

The crop has an estimated value of $1,046,000, the police statement said.

No one was at home at the time, and police investigations are continuing under Strike Force Zambesi.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
