Police search for missing Melbourne girl

Police are looking for a 12-year-old Melbourne girl who has been missing for nearly 24 hours.

Yasmin Davis left her Donvale home to catch the bus to school about 8.10am (AEST) on Tuesday.

Police say it's unclear whether the the girl took the bus, but she didn't show up to school and used her Myki card about two hours later.

Police describe her as Eurasian in appearance, of thin build, about 162 centimetres tall with long black hair that was tied in a pony tail.

She was last seen wearing dark blue track pants and a dark blue track top.

Anyone who sees Yasmin is urged to contact police.
