Police release CCTV of violent Sydney pub robbery

Police have released CCTV footage after the robbery of a pub in Padstow in Sydney’s south-west last year.

Two armed men walked into the pub on Howard Road with their faces concealed at about 10.20pm on October 1.

One was armed with a machete and other with a tomahawk.

One of the men approached a security guard from behind and punched him in the head, knocking him unconscious, before the pair demanded cash from bar staff.

They fled the scene after the staff complied.

The security guard was taken to hospital with a suspected broken jaw and concussion.

Police spoke to staff members and more than a dozen customers inside at the time and investigation continues.
