'Raptor 13' Sydney cop in threatening video unmasked as public calls for his sacking

A no-nonsense police officer who calls himself Raptor 13 is facing the sack after he was found to have engaged in serious misconduct following a traffic stop in Sydney this year.

Senior Constable Andrew Murphy- whose name can now be revealed- has built a cult following of fans and critics for his uncompromising style of policing when dealing with members of bikie gangs and drug dealers.

But in April, the officer and his partner, chased and then pulled over P plate driver, and Afghan woman and a friend, in Church Street, Parramatta, after the passenger was not wearing a seat belt.

Constable Murphy was wearing a body cam and recording himself speaking to the female driver.

"You have to be the most studipest (sic) driver of a motor vehicle I have ever seen," he said.

He also made a threat: "Don't argue with me love or you'll be going back in the paddy wagon as accessory to murder".

A public rally calling for his sacking was today called off at the last minute, with organisers concerned it may add unnecessary fuel to the situation.

In recent years, the officers' exploits on the beat have been caught on video.

From shirtfronting an elderly man to confronting a group of mourners on their way to slain Comanchero president, Mick Hawi's funeral, his policing has raised some eyebrows.

But it was the traffic stop in Parramatta, which has brought the officer undone.

The Law Enforcement Conduct commission found Constable Murphy had breached his authority as a police officer and his conduct was intimidating, abusing, threatening and bullying.

It recommended he and his partner face disciplinary action which could see them sacked, demoted or transferred.

The Police Commissioner, Mick Fuller will have to decide on the punishment.
