Third teenager charged after dramatic car chase through regional Victoria

A Melbourne boy has been charged over Friday's high-speed car chase across Victoria with three teenager now in custody and one person still on the run.

Officers terminated the pursuit for safety reasons after using unmarked cars to follow the dark-coloured BMW sedan from Thomastown to Heathcote on Friday afternoon.

Two girls, aged 14 and 17, were arrested and charged after exiting the car at an Aldi supermarket in Kilmore.

The 17-year-old girl was released and subsequently re-arrested, along with a 15-year-old boy, after the car was found dumped in Thomastown yesterday afternoon.

A police spokeswoman said today the 17-year-old has now been charged with theft of a vehicle and breaching bail.

The 15-year-old boy has been charged with theft of a vehicle.

Both have been remanded in custody and will appear in a children's court at a later date.

The 14-year-old Thomastown girl has been charged with two counts of theft of a vehicle and remanded in custody,

Police continue to search for the fourth occupant, a male, who remains on the run.

It was earlier inaccurately reported there were five people in the car during the high-speed chase.
