Eight drug drivers allegedly caught in SA school zones in two days
A disturbing number of South Australian motorists have been nabbed during a school zone road safety crackdown by police.
Operation Return to School ran on Monday and Tuesday, with police patrols visiting 244 schools across the state and issuing 126 on the spot fines for offences.
Eight accused drug drivers were caught during the blitz - six of them either had children in the car at the time or had just dropped them off at school.

Most tested positive for methamphetamines, with one driver allegedly testing positive to cannabis.
Another motorist is also accused of having a blood alcohol reading of 0.052 per cent and was issued an on the spot fine for drink driving and driving an unregistered car.
"It is unacceptable that some drivers still make the conscious decision to not only put their lives at risk but also the lives of other road users including vulnerable passengers by drink and drug driving," SA Police Superintendent Bob Gray said.

Police say 35 drivers were caught speeding and ten drivers were nabbed for using their mobile phones.
Superintendent Gray says drivers were warned that school zones would be targeted.
"We make no apologies for taking a strong line with fatal five offences - we simply want people to stay safe on the roads," he said.
