Police investigating after NSW man shot in the chest

Police are investigating after a man presented himself to Lake Macquarie Private Hospital on the NSW Central Coast with a gunshot wound to his chest.

Police were called to the hospital about 7.50pm yesterday where they were told a 22-year-old man had been shot in the chest.

The 22-year-old man was then taken to John Hunter Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Police are investigating the incident.

Anyone with further information about the suspected shooting has been asked to come forward.
