Suspected arson attack damages three shops in Adelaide's west

Police are investigating a suspicious fire at a group of shops in Lockleys, in Adelaide's west, this morning.

Business owners feared the worst as smoke was seen billowing from the roof of the shopping centre on the corner Henley Beach Road and Douglas Street just after 4am.

Crews were able to quickly contain the blaze which started in a barber's shop.

Three businesses were extensively damaged.

Authorities are examining the scene in an effort to determine the cause of the blaze.

The fire follows break-ins at the same complex yesterday.
