Man stabbed in the neck and chest hospitalised

A man has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed several times at a park in Sydney’s south.

The 25-year-old is being treated in St George Hospital with stab wounds to his neck and chest after the incident in Arncliffe.

Police and paramedics were called to the park in Bonar Street at around 12.15am where the man received initial treatment before being transported to St George Hospital in a serious condition.

Police commenced an investigation at the scene and spoke to a number of witnesses before taking a 25-year-old man into custody. He was taken to nearby Kogarah police station for further questioning.

At the crime scene Police gathered evidence as they tried to establish a motive for the attack and determine the circumstances which preceded it.

Although a man was arrested, he is yet to be charged.  The victim remains in hospital.
