A specialist police team is investigating a series of fires that were deliberately lit around the Goulburn area late last year.

Between November 19 and December 8, seven fires were lit around the Ross Street, Tully Park, Brewer Street and Gorman Road areas of Goulburn.

Batlow is one of the hardest hit areas in NSW.

Detectives are seeking information on three men who were captured on CCTV in the areas the fires were lit.

"Information provided to police from members of the public can help us identify and suppress fire-bugs before they start lighting," Detective Acting Inspector Matthew Packham said.

"It's distressing to see so many fires being deliberately lit, particularly after recent events in our region."

Police are appealing for these men to come forward and anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage that may assist in the investigation to contact CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000.
