Police hunting arsonist release CCTV of Sydney fruit shop attacks

Police have released dramatic footage of two arson attacks at a fruit shop in Sydney’s west in 2014.

The first attack, which occurred on April 30, caused minor damage to the shop on the Hume Highway in Casula.  

CCTV images of the first incident appear to show the suspect milling around the front of the fruit shop before knocking a hole in the door. Shortly after, a fireball erupts inside the shop.

Emergency crews attended the scene and extinguished the blaze.

On June 14, emergency crews were called to the same shop following reports of a fire.

A man was captured on CCTV driving a white van into the back doors of the shop, getting out of the vehicle and quickly walking off before a fire erupted inside.

The man was then filmed fleeing the scene on foot.

Authorities say the business was completely destroyed in the second attack.

Police believe the man was wearing a white hooded jumper, blue jeans and white running shoes at the time of the attacks.
