Police hunting 20 Aussie terror suspects overseas

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) have issued up to 20 arrest wants for citizens who travelled to fight in Iraq and Syria.

It’s understood the AFP is working in conjunction with Turkish authorities to catch the terror suspects who are attempting to return to Australia since the fall of ISIS.

Among the fighters is Melbourne-born Neil Prakash, who remains in police custody after being arrested in 2016.

Prakash, 26, accused of being an ISIS facilitator, has been linked to New York jihadist Munther Saleh- the man who allegedly hoped to plan a massacre in the city’s Time Square and blow up the Statue of Liberty.

Authorities believe that since 2012, 210 Australian fighters have travelled to Syria or Iraq; 40 have since returned home, while 110 remain unaccounted for.

Of those missing fighters, numerous are believed to have been killed in the conflict zone.
