Police hunt Melbourne man filmed pushing man onto train tracks

Police are searching for a Melbourne thug who punched another man in the head before pushing him onto train tracks.

The attack happened at Yarraman train station in Noble Park earlier this month.

Surveillance footage shows a backpack-wearing man with long curly hair punching the victim a number of times around the head and pushing him onto the train tracks.

The attacker then gets on his bike and rides away while continuing to shout abuse at the victim.

A bystander rushed to help the man and dragged him back onto the platform, less than two minutes before an express train rolled through the station.

The attacker is believed to be of Pacific Islander background and in his 20s.
