Police hunt man who held up hair salon with syringe

Police have released CCTV in hope of catching a man who held up a Melbourne hairdressing salon using a syringe.

Video shows the hooded offender entered the Main Road West salon in St Albans on October 10.

Armed with a syringe, the man demanded cash from the store attendant who complied.

The man then fled the scene, and has been on the run ever since.

He is described as having a Caucasian appearance, is aged in his mid-30s, and is about 175cm tall with a medium build.

Along with a black hooded jumper, he was wearing blue jeans and black shoes with blue coloured laces.

Investigators have urged any witnesses to come forward.
