Police are hunting for the owner of a wedding ring found at the scene of a break-and-enter in Queensland’s Wide Bay region.

Three people broke into a bottle shop at Cooloola Cove, north-east of Gympie, about 1.30am Monday.

They stole a safe and computer equipment from the Queen Elizabeth Drive shop, before leaving through its rear entrance.

During a search of the shop, police found a wedding ring with the inscription “Adrienne & Jim 27.8.60”.

Investigators have appealed for anyone with information about the ring or the crime to come forward.
