Police end search for missing swimmer after body found

Police have concluded the search for the missing swimmer (AAP). AP
A body found on South Stradbroke Island this afternoon is believed to be that of a missing swimmer.
Queensland Police formally ended the extensive search for the 19-year-old South Australian man, after what is thought to be his body was found.

He disappeared after entering the water shortly after midnight on Monday morning near Surfers Paradise.
Police believe the teenager was swimming in waist-deep water when a wave knocked him down and he failed to resurface.
The body is yet to be formally identified.
A report is being prepared for the coroner.
