Police car badly burnt after patrol in Perth’s northern outer-suburbs

A police car has caught fire after a patrol in Two Rocks, north of Perth last night.

Yanchep and North West Metro police officers were called to a bush track about 6pm after reports of teenagers causing a disturbance in the area.

After the patrol, the Yanchep police officers noticed flames erupting from their colleagues’ car travelling ahead of them and told them to pull over.

They attempted to extinguish the blaze but were unable to do so, calling on assistance from the fire department to clear the area.

The officers weren’t harmed in the fire, which is not being treated as suspicious.

A WA police spokesperson said it appears the car may have been somehow damaged on the patrol.
