Police call disappearance of young Ipswich man ‘out of character’

Police are searching for an Ipswich man who was last seen after returning from a fishing trip on the Gold Coast last night.

Authorities said 20-year-old Damien Harrison was last seen around 8pm when he walked away after fishing at the Spit, north of Main Beach.

Police said they hold concerns for his welfare because his disappearance is "out of character".

Mr Harrison is described as Caucasian, around 175cm tall, of proportionate build, tanned, with brown hair and brown eyes.

He has a large tattoo of a ship on the outer side of his right leg and another tattoo on his chest.
