Police arrest 24 people in Brisbane meth ring bust

A man who allegedly wielded a sword at police has been arrested amid a series of raids targeting a drug ring operating in Brisbane.

The 32-year-old was arrested and charged with weapons offences today as police executed search warrants at 27 addresses across Brisbane's north.

The man was one of 24 arrested on 75 charges while replica firearms, drugs and cash were also seized by officers.

The alleged ringleader of the syndicate, a 45-year-old man from Bald Hills, has been charged with a range of offences including drug trafficking and money laundering and will face Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

The sword-wielding man from Burpengary is due to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on September 18.

Officers seized $20,000 in cash, a quantity of methamphetamine and a number of replica guns and other weapons including flick knives during the raids.
