Police seeking two vehicles over attempted kidnapping in Sydney's south

Police are hoping new CCTV footage released today will help track down three men behind an attempted kidnapping in Sydney's south earlier this year.

A 39-year-old man was ambushed just before 1pm on Thursday, March 2, by the trio who pulled up alongside his car at Cameron Street in Banksia before they used an electronic device to stun the victim.

They then tried to drag him into their white Ford Ranger ute but the victim fought back and escaped before the three men drove off.

The Ranger was found abandoned and burnt out a short time later at Nattai Place in Banksia.

The victim suffered bruising and gashes and required hospital treatment.

He has since recovered from his injuries.

Police have released CCTV footage of two vehicles – the white Ford Ranger and a white Mercedes sedan – which were both seen in the area earlier on the same day.

Detectives are appealing for public help to identify the white sedan and would like to speak to any occupant of the vehicle, or anyone who has knowledge of these vehicles' movements on March 2.
