Police believe there were four passengers on the train who may have unwittingly bared witness to the attack but were not involved.

Police have released images of passengers who may be of assistance to the investigation showing four passengers who were in the carriage at some point throughout the journey.

CCTV images taken within the train shows two men, aged within their 20s and another man aged between 25 and 30, who were in the carriage and may have seen the attacker or the attack take place.

Police are also seeking a fourth witness, a woman, who was wearing all black.

Investigators have stressed the witnesses were not involved in the attack.
