PM sympathetic to showing ID at airports

Malcolm Turnbull is sympathetic to the idea of having passengers present identification before boarding domestic flights.

The prime minister and Federal Police Commissioner Andrew Colvin confirmed discussions were taking place on the proposed measure.

"We are very sympathetic to the proposition that ID should be shown to board a domestic flight," Mr Turnbull told reporters in Sydney on Friday.
