AAP
The next Council of Australian Governments meeting has been scheduled for May 2 in Canberra.
Prime Minister Tony Abbott chaired his first COAG meeting in December, at which he secured the agreement of the states and territories to fast-track environmental approvals for major projects.
The May meeting is expected to discuss school and disability funding, and receive reports on ways to accelerate infrastructure projects.

It is also set to discuss a report from the new Industry and Skills Council on the future of manufacturing, following the decision of Holden, Ford and Toyota to end car-making in Australia.
The issue of overseas adoption of children has also been slated for the agenda.
