The drought is a reminder of the indomitable spirit of Australians, Prime Minister Scott Morrison says.
Mr Morrison on Friday opened a summit in Canberra involving rural groups, state representatives, business, bankers and charities.
"If the drought has reminded us of one thing, it's the indomitable spirit of Australians and the hope that they have in the future, and their commitment to ensuring the maintenance of a lifestyle that has been lived in this country for generations," Mr Morrison said.
