Plenty of ship work to go around

The government's $40 billion plan for continuous construction of new warships will be centred in Adelaide but there'll be plenty of work for Western Australia too, Defence Minister Kevin Andrews says.

WA had a significant and impressive shipbuilding industry, he said.

"These decisions will aid that industry and the industry throughout Australia - it has been widely welcomed by everyone except the opposition," he told parliament.
