Police deny reports Australian boy found in Spain

Spanish police have knocked back reports that missing Sydney boy Julian Cadman has been found in a hospital.

Newspaper El Mundo reported the seven-year-old was found in a hospital, but authorities have denied that claim, the BBC reports.

Instead the little boy remains missing nearly two days after his mother Jom was struck by a van driving by a terrorist in Barcelona.

Mrs Cadman is currently in hospital in a serious condition, and Julian's whereabouts remain unknown.

The Sydney boy was in Barcelona with his mum Jom Cadman for a wedding, but they became separated during the attack which left Ms Cadman in hospital with serious injuries.

The boy's father Andrew, is due to arrive in Barcelona after departing Sydney on Friday night to be by his wife's side in hospital and help find their son.

Meanwhile, a pharmacist has spoken of how he cared for Mrs Cadman after she was struck and before paramedics arrived.

Fouad Bakkali said Mrs Cadman lay on the floor of his shop as he tried to comfort her.

Australian authorities haven't yet confirmed Julian has been found.

Earlier on Saturday, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull asked Australians to pray for the boy and his family.

"I think we should all, in a our quiet moments, say a prayer for that little boy," Mr Turnbull said at the Tasmanian Liberal Party Conference.

"All of us as parents know the anguish his father is going through and his whole family is going through, as they rush to seek to find him in Barcelona."
