A pilot has been filmed sitting in stunned silence after surviving a crash-landing into a paddock in New South Wales’s Riverina region.

Witnesses filmed the aftermath of the crash near Tumut Airport yesterday afternoon, and captured the pilot kneeling in shock next to his recreational aircraft.

He stares ahead as the witnesses ask if he is OK and encourage him to lay down.

His aircraft suffered engine issues before it came down about 5pm.

The pilot suffered spinal and pelvic injuries, but they are not believed to be life-threatening.

He is an experienced pilot from Canberra, who regularly visits Tumut as it is where he keeps his aircraft, The Tumut and Adelong Times reports.
