Phillip Hughes's family to watch Fourth Test at SCG

The family of fallen cricketer Phillip Hughes will make an emotional pilgrimage to the Sydney Cricket Ground for the Fourth Test against India, starting Tuesday.

Hughes was killed on the ground during a Sheffield Shield match after being struck on the head by a bouncer bowled by paceman Sean Abbott on November 25 last year.

His family will be accompanied by injured Australian captain Michael Clarke when they watch their son's former teammates attempt to emphasise their series victory over India by winning the final Test.

Brother Jason said it was important for the family to attend this particular Test because the SCG was where Hughes had made his mark during his career.

A plaque outside the Australian dressing room will commemorate the fallen batsman.

Four players in the Australian team, including Shane Watson, David Warner, Brad Haddin and Nathan Lyon, were all playing in the NSW-South Australia Sheffield Shield match when Hughes was fatally injured.

It will be the first time they have returned to the ground since the accident.
