Foster befriended Chardon when the pair were made cellmates in prison while Foster was acting as a police informant.

Foster told the court that Chardon would speak about sex with girls but denied he was a pedophile.

He claimed Chardon had admitted to making the decision to kill his wife Novy after a fight they had in a restaurant on Mother’s Day.

Foster claims Chardon wanted to buy a long range motor yacht named Shilo on the Gold Coast, skip the country and then travel the world on fake passports from the Dominican Republic and Romania.

He also allegedly compared his case to Gable Tostee who was acquitted of murder.

Yesterday, Foster claimed Chardon shot Novy in the back of the head in their home in February 2013 using a shotgun and homemade silencer.

The court today also heard from forensic police officer Cassie Thompson who said Novy’s blood was not found inside Chardon’s house.
