A Perth city worker has been coward punched as he walked home, just east of the CBD.

Security cameras captured the moment the man was punched in the face, and then fell back hitting his head on a concrete planter-box on Murray Street on Tuesday.

The vision shows the man exchanging words outside the Kangaroo Inn with two others before turning to walk away.

Then, one of the men hits him in the face.

Owner of The Kangaroo Inn, Jon Lukman, says "anti-social behaviour in the area is getting worse".

"I've never seen anything like it," he said.

Mr Lukman believes police are under-resourced to deal with the issues facing business owners.

Police have since charged a 29-year-old man, of no fixed address, over the alleged assault.
