Perth woman locks herself in bathroom after man cuts power, water and breaks in

Two homes in Perth have been converted in to crime scenes as a bloodied intruder left behind a trail of blood.

At 7pm last night, a 31-year-old woman was home alone in Morley when the man broke in.

The power and water were deliberately cut, and she was forced to lock herself inside her bathroom as the intruder paced through her home.

The terrified engineer calling police and her friend as she hid in fear and darkness waiting for help to arrive.

The woman hid in her bathroom as the heavily-bleeding man threatened to come in, but instead staggered about 20 metres away across the road yelling in distress, before breaking in to another home.

The woman inside tried to stop the man from bleeding injuries it's believed he suffered while breaking into the two homes.

The 22-year-old was under police guard but attempted to flee charging at officers, jumping on the patrol car bonnet.

It took six officers and paramedics to restrain him.

The intruder is under police guard at Royal Perth Hospital in a stable condition awaiting news of possible charges.
