Perth teenager knocked unconscious in brutal McDonald's gang bashing

"Mum I'm going to die."

Those were the words 15-year-old Jack Birrell couldn't stop saying after he was brutally bashed outside a McDonald's in Perth's east on Friday night.

The young labourer was out with his cousins when a group of boys jumped out of a car and approached them in Forrestfield, wielding baseball bats.

Jack Birrell, 15, suffered a broken nose, fractured jaw and eye socket swelling when a gang of boys armed with bats attacked him at a Perth McDonald's. 9News

The boy suffered a broken nose, fractured jaw and significant swelling to his eye socket.

"After that I sort of blacked out," Jack told 9News.

"I woke up and there was blood all over me."

A Good Samaritan driving by picked him up from the side of the road and dropped him at his aunty's home where he was then taken to hospital.

"If it had of been a bit higher up, I could've been planning a funeral," his mother Lisa Perham said.

Jack's mother, Lisa Perham, said she received a message from him saying he believed he was going to die after the unprovoked assault. 9News

"He was in a bad way, he was nearly unconscious... blood was pouring out over him everywhere."

Jack Birrell says he doesn't know why he was attacked.

"It's definitely not a nice sight," he said.

His mum wants police to catch the gang.

"I want them charged, I want them brought to justice," she said.

"It's a mother's worst nightmare to deal with that, it was terrible, no one expects to see their son like that."
