Body found in search for bushwalker missing for six days

A grim discovery has been made in the search for a Perth mother missing in bushland for almost a week.

Lorjie Bautista, 39, is believed to have gone for a hike about 4am on Tuesday on Bluff Knoll in the Stirling Range National Park, north of Albany in Western Australia’s south-west.

Tonight, police found a body on the mountain and they believe it is the missing woman.

The remains were found in dense bushland away from public trails.

The area will remain closed to the public as the police operation continues.

Officers have previously said they don't believe there are any suspicious circumstances.
