Body of newborn baby found inside Perth home, mother taken to hospital
The body of a newborn baby has been found inside a home in Perth.
9News understands a 26-year-old woman gave birth to the baby — believed to be premature — early this morning at the property on Cassidy Road in Thornlie, in the city's south.
It is understood the newborn took some breaths after being born but later passed away at the home.

Paramedics were called to this Thornlie property hours after the baby was born but later died. 9News
Paramedics were allegedly not immediately called. The woman was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital around 2pm (AWST) today.
A heavy police and ambulance presence remains at the property with Cassidy Road blocked off to traffic.
A man was seen tonight also being led from the scene to a waiting police car with a towel over his head, however there is no suggestion yet he is linked to the incident.
Detectives and forensics teams called to the scene are investigating the circumstances around the newborn's death. They are yet to determine if there is any criminal element to the incident.
