Community shock over death of Perth mum who 'always lent a helping hand'

A husband has faced court charged with murdering his wife, after her body was discovered in the backyard of the family home in Perth.

Ahmed Dawood Seedat, 36, wasn't required to enter a plea and was seen with his hand over his face, staring at the floor.

When asked by the magistrate if he understood the charge, he replied: "yes sir".

Forensic police remain at the Carlisle home where police allege 32-year-old Fahima Yusuf was killed on Friday.

Friends have described Ms Yusuf as bubbly and always happy. They said she was beautiful and adored her two children.

Ms Yusuf volunteered with the Australian Arab Association in Perth where friends say she was always willing to lend a helping hand.

"I was shocked, I didn't have a clue and I'm so sad for her, she'll be so sorely missed by her children - mum's not there anymore - what do you say?" friend Amal Youssef said.

The 32-year-old's body was recovered last night. Forensic police were seen digging a hole down the side of the home, not far from where her children's toys are kept.

"It's a tragic scene for the family, two young children, a 32-year-old mother has been found deceased at that property." WA Police Commissioner Chris Dawson said.

Ahmed Seedat was remanded in custody.
