A Perth man has been sentenced to 10 years behind bars for kidnapping and sexually assaulting two children.

Vincenzo Mule lured the four-year-old girl and five-year-old boy from a North Perth holiday care centre, promising treats and fun activities.

He walked them to a shed at the back of his parents’ house in April last year - where he gave them an icy pole, before sexually assaulting them.

Mule then abandoned the children in Hyde park.

The father-of-three initially denied the abuse - but pleaded guilty to five charges in January.

Despite the admission, Mule claims he can't remember what he did.

He says he'd blacked out after taking his father's prescription medication - but that was rejected by Judge Simon Stone.

"I am satisfied beyond reasonable doubt that you have feigned amnesia to avoid the consequences of your actions," Judge Stone said.

"Your actions were brazen deliberate and persistent."

"Your conduct was abhorrent. It was reprehensible."

Mule showed no emotion as the sentence was handed down.

He will be eligible for parole in April 2024.
