Teenage boys arrested over string of Perth robberies and carjackings

Powered by

A gang of teenage boys - some as young as 14 - is facing serious charges after a string of robberies and car thefts across Perth.

Police say a Honda Odyssey was stolen in Booragoon on Friday night and was used as a getaway car after a man was menaced with an axe and robbed in Northbridge.

The group that was allegedly in the stolen Odyssey is also accused of carjacking a man in Burswood, where the driver was threatened with an axe before the culprits took off in his Honda Jazz.

The alleged crime rampage only came to an end in the early hours of this morning in Palmyra.

Video from the police helicopter showed the moment six teens fled from the Odyssey and tried to hide – but to no avail.

The boys, aged between 14 and 16, were arrested to bring the spree to an end.

Police have since charged four teenagers with car theft but are still looking for others, who may be travelling in the Honda Jazz.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
