Teen father in coma with fractured skull after horrific brick attack during WA dirt bike ride

Western Australian police are searching for the people responsible for a horrific brick attack on a teenage father riding a dirt bike on a suburban street, who has been left in a coma.

Brandon Jackson, 18, was knocked from the bike today in Cloverdale in Perth by objects neighbours say were three bricks, hurled at him on Kew Street while he wasn't wearing a helmet.

Mr Jackson is tonight in a critical condition at Royal Perth Hospital with a fractured skull after the attack, with friends and loved ones now pleading for those responsible to turn themselves into authorities.

"Just come forward, (you are) better off coming forward than trying to hide," family friend Chris Marshall told 9News.

"He's a good kid, he's my best mate and he's got a kid now… It's just disappointing, it's not good, it's not nice."

A large section of both Kew Street and Tighe Street were cordoned off for eight hours today by police investigating the incident, leaving residents unable to get in or out.

Neighbours expressed their concern over the attack, and added that it's not the first time a dirt bike has been involved in issues in the area.

"It's just irritating for everyone who lives here, just constantly up and down the street going over the speed bumps and it's just very irritating for people who have children," local resident Elysia Douglas told 9News.

"This could happen to anyone. A brick could be thrown at you for driving or walking – it just makes me feel really unsafe."

Police are unsure of how many people may have been involved in the attack – which they say was an isolated incident – and have appealed to the public for help to locate the people responsible.
