Perisher opens early after sub-zero snow dumps
Snowboarders and skiers have a skip in their step after Perisher opened its 2021 season early today, following a run of below-freezing days last month.
The popular New South Wales ski resort usually opens on the June long weekend, which falls next weekend.
"We are so pleased with the opportunity to open Perisher early ... especially given the late start last season," Pete Brulisauer, Vail Resorts Perisher chief operating officer, said.

The opening day for Mount Hotham and Falls Creek is set for June 12, subject to snow and weather conditions.
Perisher will be operating in line with government regulations, and QR check-in codes will be used at venues at the resort.
