Antarctica's emperor penguins appear to be getting in on the selfie game after finding an unattended camera.

The curious birds discovered the camera, belonging to Australian Eddie Gault, near the Mawson research station.

One of the birds knocked the camera over and peered into the lens, joined by a companion.
