Elderly woman dies after fall in shopping centre car park

An elderly woman has died after falling in a shopping centre car park in north-west Sydney.

Police are investigating whether a car struck the 82-year-old when she was walking along a pedestrian crossing in the Carlingford car park on Pennant Hills Road about 1.20pm yesterday and “fell heavily” to the ground. 

She was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition where she died early this morning.

A 64-year-old driver of a Subaru Forrester was also taken to Ryde Hospital where she underwent mandatory blood and urine testing.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
